Match Information

Times & Format

For all matches except the Youth Match:

Arrival: 8:30 AM
Peg Draw: 8:45 AM
Match Start: 10:00 AM
Match End: 3:00 PM
Keep Nets: Allowed and to be set up before the match begins.

Entry Details

Maximum Entrants: 12 anglers per match

Entry Deadline: The night before the match

Match Rules

These match rules are in addition to the venue’s main rules:

No casting more than 11m from your peg
Keep nets and ground baiting are allowed
Stay within your designated fishing area – no casting into other anglers' swims
No fishing before the match begins
No other anglers are permitted to fish on match days

Scoring & Prizes

Each match is determined by total bag weight (total fish weight caught)
One angler per match will win a trophy for the highest total bag weight
Medals are awarded for both individual and team achievements
Pairs Match: The winning pair will receive medals
Optional Pools: £5 entry if you wish to take part

Join our Family Friendly Gudgeon Charity Match 2024

Back to Basics

Are you a young angler? A new member? Never fished a match before? Want to introduce a child or grandchild to fishing? Want to take it back to the old school? Or just raise some money for charity? Then come and join our all inclusive, non competitive, family friendly Gudgeon Match.

We're after the smallest fish in the pool and keeping them in buckets just like the good old days to see who can catch the most and lift the Golden Gudgeon Trophy - but there will be prizes for all, from cakes to some fishing gear.

So far our entrants range from 12 to 70+. We will even have some of the more experienced club members on hand to offer some help and guidance if needed.
